Materials in contact with food products
The Chemical Research Center offers laboratory tests of materials intended for contact with food products, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The general migration test consists in determining the total mass of all substances passing under certain conditions from the packaging to the food product, or a model environment simulating the food product.
We offer our clients tests to determine the overall migration on all model environments:
- DISTILLED WATER
- 10% ETHANOL
- 3% ACETIC ACID
- 20% ETHANOL
- 50% ETHANOL
- VEGETABLE OIL
- ISOOCTAN
- 95% ETHANOL
The specific migration test consists in determining the mass of a specific substance that passes under certain conditions from a package into a food product, or a model environment that simulates a food product.
Examples of substances for which specific migration tests are carried out in the “Center for Chemical Research”:
- metals (Br, Co, Cu, Fe, Li, Mn, Zn),
- primary aromatic amines,
- phthalates
- perfluorosulfonic acids
- other substances
